This Privacy Policy explains how PureKid ("PureKid", "we", "us") handles information when you use the PureKid mobile application (the "App"). PureKid helps parents and caregivers scan grocery barcodes to understand nutrition, additives, and allergen risks for their children.
We built PureKid to be privacy-respecting: we do not require an email, name, phone number, or social login to use the App, and we do not sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.
The App is operated by the PureKid developer. For any privacy question or request, contact us at [email protected].
Account identifier. When you first open the App, we create an anonymous account through Firebase Authentication (a Google service). This produces a random user identifier so your data can sync across launches and devices. This anonymous account does not contain your name or email.
Family profiles you create. If you add a child profile, we store the information you enter: the child's name (or nickname), birth date, selected allergens, dietary restrictions, and any notes. You choose what to enter — you can use a nickname instead of a real name.
Scan history. When you scan or look up a product, we store the product barcode, product name and brand, the computed health score, the date, and which child profile it was checked against.
Subscription status. If you purchase PureKid Plus, we store your subscription state (plan, active/trial status). Payment is processed by Apple and RevenueCat; we never receive or store your payment card details.
Camera. Barcode scanning uses your device camera on-device. We process the barcode value only. We do not capture, upload, or store photos or video from your camera.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or resale.
PureKid relies on a small number of service providers that process data on our behalf:
