APEX ("APEX", "we", "us") is a GPS speedometer and driving-tracker app. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it. APEX is built to be privacy-first: you can use it anonymously, with no account, name, or email.

Information we collect

• Location data. APEX uses your device's precise GPS location to show your live speed, record trips (route, distance, speed, elevation), and warn you about speed cameras and road hazards ahead. To provide hazard alerts, APEX sends your approximate location to the OpenStreetMap Overpass API to look up nearby cameras, traffic signals, stop signs, and crossings.
• Motion & activity data. With your permission, APEX reads CoreMotion activity to automatically detect when you start and stop driving (auto trip detection).
• Trip & driving data. Routes, speeds, distance, elevation, and derived driving analytics (smoothness score, hard braking/acceleration, cornering, peak g-force) are stored on your device and, if cloud sync is on, in our backend.
• Anonymous identifier. On first launch we create an anonymous account (Firebase Authentication) identified only by a random ID. We do not collect your name, email, or phone number.
• Purchase data. If you subscribe to APEX Premium, your purchase is handled by Apple and managed via RevenueCat. We receive subscription status only — never your payment card details.
• Leaderboard. If you choose to submit to the global leaderboard, only your top speed is shared on an anonymous public board. No personal identity is attached.

What we do NOT do

• No ads and no advertising identifier (IDFA).
• We never sell your data.
• No third-party tracking SDKs that profile you across apps.

Service providers

We rely on: Apple (App Store, in-app purchases), Google Firebase (anonymous authentication, cloud database & sync), RevenueCat (subscription management), and the OpenStreetMap Overpass API (road-hazard lookups). Each processes data only to deliver its part of the service.

Data retention & deletion

Your trips are kept until you delete them. You can erase everything — local data, your cloud records, your leaderboard entries, and your anonymous account — at any time from Settings → "Delete My Data".

Children

APEX is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
